In celebration of Disneyland’s 70th anniversary, on July 17th, 2025 Disney has officially added a new verse to the iconic "It's a Small World" song.
The new verse was penned by the late Richard Sherman, who, along with his brother Robert, composed the original song for the 1964 New York World's Fair.
The new lyrics are:
"Mother earth unites us in heart and mind.
And the love we give makes us humankind.
Through our vast wondrous land.
When we stand hand in hand.
It's a small world after all."
This new verse is featured in the finale scene of the attraction at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World, starting July 17, 2025. Gregg Sherman, Richard's son, shared that the new verse is intended to "celebrate that there's more that unites us than divides us, and reinforce the message of that song"
