Disney’s Animal Kingdom is about to make Zootopia feel real with a brand-new 4D theater show right inside the park’s famous Tree of Life.
The show, called Zootopia: Better Zoogether, drops you into a nine-minute ride alongside Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde. You’ll slip on “carrot vision” 3D glasses (“because carrots are good for your eyes,” of course), and the city of Zootopia just bursts to life around you. Sights, smells, and wild motion effects make you feel like you’re right there with them.
The story sends Judy and Nick off to crack a sabotage case in Zootopia, but things go sideways fast. Suddenly, chaos breaks loose in the theater — wind whips by, new scents drift in, and you might even spot rodents scurrying past your seat.
“It’s this cool Zootopia technology designed by bunnies,” said Danny Handke, Senior Creative Director at Walt Disney Imagineering. He loves how the show surprises people: “There are moments where you can actually smell and feel things you’d never expect at a movie.”
Handke’s favorite moment? When the rodents spill out into the crowd. “You never see it coming, and then the whole theater jumps and screams and laughs. Honestly, that’s the best part.”
Zootopia: Better Zoogether opens to everyone at Disney’s Animal Kingdom this Friday.
