Florida Remembers December 7th: Englewood Honors Pearl Harbor Anniversary

On December 7, 2025, the community will come together at Englewood’s Veterans Park on W. Dearborn Street to mark the eighty-fourth anniversary of Pearl Harbor. The ceremony starts at 1 p.m., organized by VFW Post 10178 and Auxiliary, Lemon Bay High School NJROTC, Rotunda West American Legion Post 113, and the Veterans Honor Guard.
Danny Fuson kicks things off with introductions. Rev. Ronnie Jackson leads the opening prayer before the Lemon Bay NJROTC steps forward for the Pledge of Allegiance. Carol Hilt, a retired Navy veteran, will perform the national anthem.
Retired Navy Captain Darren Glaser will speak as the event’s guest speaker, followed by a tribute honoring the veterans lost at Pearl Harbor.
American Legion Post 113 and the Rotonda West Honor Guard will deliver the Final Salute, with rifle volleys and the solemn notes of Taps. Rev. Jackson will close out the ceremony with a final prayer.
This event is an invitation to come together and remember and honor those who gave their lives on December 7, 1941.
