"Hallucination Before Christmas" Rave Returns to Ybor City This Weekend

Halloween meets the holidays for charity.

Forget those cheesy themed raves you see everywhere lately. None of them—no matter how many glow sticks or gimmicks they pile on—come close to Tampa’s legendary “Hallucination Before Christmas.” For almost thirty years, this party has mashed up Halloween and the holidays, all while raising serious money and food for charity.

This year’s lineup is stacked. Nearly 40 artists will take over four rooms. You’ve got Josh Wink from Boys Noize Records (“Higher State of Consciousness”), Chicago house pioneer Gene Farris, festival favorite LEFT/RIGHT, and Hallucination veterans DJ Monk, DJ Three, and Oona Dahl—all under one roof.

Hallucination isn’t just a wild audio-visual trip, either. It’s one of the Bay area’s biggest holiday food drives. They hauled in over a ton of canned goods last year alone, and that’s no small thing.
