The Jacksonville Jaguars plan to play their 2027 season in Orlando. The NFL still needs to sign off, but on Friday, Orlando City Commissioner Shan Rose made it clear: Orlando is the Jaguars’ top choice over Gainesville for that year. Right now, Jacksonville’s EverBank Stadium is set for renovations, so the team needs a temporary home.
Rose says the city is deep in the process, sorting through details and negotiations. There’s still a big step ahead—a vote from NFL owners—but she’s optimistic. She wants the NFL to pick Orlando and Camping World Stadium.
Steve Hogan, CEO of Florida Citrus Sports, weighed in too. He said, “Florida Citrus Sports has been working for many years to help provide Orlando with the opportunity to host NFL regular-season football, and we believe we’ve put forward a competitive package for Jaguars games to be played here during the 2027 season. Our community has consistently demonstrated its ability to successfully host major events, and this opportunity would mark an important new chapter for our city as a global sports and entertainment destination. We look forward to the league’s decision and the chance to celebrate with our residents and fans across the region.”
Camping World Stadium isn’t sitting still, either. The venue’s getting a $400 million overhaul before the 2027 season—updating everything to lure big events like NFL games. The plan calls for new upper decks, connected concourses, and a new indoor events center. Orlando wants to be ready.
