Margaritaville at Sea just dropped the big news: their shiny new flagship, “Beachcomber,” is going to call PortMiami home starting in 2027.
If you’re even halfway into basking in the sun, steel drum beats, and a “five o’clock somewhere” vibe, this lineup is straight fire.
So, here's the deal: Once 2027 hits, this beast of a ship is rolling out 4- to 8-night runs cruising all over the Eastern and Southern Caribbean. We’re talking St. Maarten (think mega-palm trees and a wild mashup of Dutch and French energy), sunny St. Thomas and its crazy-clear waters, jaw-dropping Old San Juan, and a slice of the D.R. where the mountains basically tumble right into golden beaches. Not your grandma’s shuffleboard cruise, trust me.
“In just a few short years, we’ve gone from one ship and one itinerary to three homeports, three distinct ships, and over 25 amazing Ports of Indecision throughout the Caribbean,” said Christopher Ivy, Chief Executive Officer of Margaritaville at Sea Cruise Line. “The arrival of Beachcomber in PortMiami is the next big chapter in our growth, giving our guests greater accessibility, more horizons to explore, and more time to unwind.”
Then there’s Brad Schwaeble, the COO, saying the ship brings the “Margaritaville state of mind” to life bigger and louder than ever. Translation: more energy, more adventure, probably more tropical drinks than you can shake a tiny umbrella at.
And honestly, what better place to kick things off than PortMiami? Flights from basically anywhere, more ships than you can count—apparently over seven million cruise passengers wander through every year. Miami-Dade peeps (shout out to Mayor Daniella Levine Cava) are hyped—she calls it “a gateway to the world” and is pretty excited to keep sending people toward the sand and surf.
So, who’s going where? First Beachcomber sailings are up for grabs now. Here’s a (not even complete) list: St. Maarten, St. Thomas, San Juan, Puerto Plata (D.R.), Bimini (Bahamas), Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao. Heavy hitters, all of them.
This whole Margaritaville at Sea operation’s now got three ways to cruise:
Paradise—think quick hit 2-4 night benders from Palm Beach, dipping to Key West or the Bahamas
Islander—longer hauls (4-10 nights), mostly from Tampa, and some family stuff
And now Beachcomber, with mostly weeklong trips from Miami deeper into the Caribbean, all with way more time to lounge, roam, or just stare at blue water like a sea slug.
The Beachcomber itself is a unit—over 100,000 gross tons, so pack your stretchy pants. They’ve tossed in 15+ new venues, glammed-up dining, upgraded cabins, and the standard roster of “stuff to do,” but reimagined.
Feeling the itch? Hit Reservations.MargaritavilleAtSea.com and, book it before the cabins are sold out. Time to hunt that lost shaker of salt—for real this time.
