The 46th Clearwater Jazz Holiday: "Back to Our Roots"

Clearwater Jazz Holiday is back for its 46th year—yeah, forty-six, wild—October 16-19, 2025, over at Coachman Park.
They’re calling it “Back to Our Roots,” which basically means they want to bring back that old-school, open-vibe magic from when this thing was free and felt kinda like a giant family picnic with saxophones.
Stages? Oh, there’s plenty. The main stage is smack on the green, like always, but now there’s two extra side stages popping up. More music, more wandering, more finding that random band you end up loving.
Tickets start at $35 if you’re cool with general admission and chilling on the lawn—bring a blanket, maybe a low chair if you’re fancy. If you want to actually see the sweat on the musicians’ faces or just feel VIP, there are reserved seats and VIP options too. No shame in that game.
The lineup’s pretty stacked: Thursday kicks off with Tower of Power (funk legends, duh), RnR with Rick Braun and Richard Elliot, and The Boneshakers with Randy Jacobs and Jenny Langer. Friday? Cory Wong’s gonna shred, plus The War and Treaty, and Polyrhythmics bringing the groove. Saturday’s heavy: Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Lady Blackbird, and Tomkats Jazz Orchestra with a New Orleans swing vibe. Sunday, things mellow out with the Youth All-Star Band, Santana Soul Fire with State College of Florida Jazz Orchestra, and Allon Sam and friends. Honestly, it’s a buffet of jazz goodness.

And, hey, it’s not just about the music. They’re still running those education and outreach gigs—stuff like “My Journey with Jazz,” which is part performance, part storytelling, and all about getting the next generation hyped on jazz. They also collect instruments for donation, so if you’ve got an old trumpet collecting dust, bring it by and maybe it’ll help some kid start their own jazz journey. Kinda sweet, actually.
Bottom line: it’s about music, community, good vibes, and helping the next wave of musicians find their groove. If you’re anywhere near Clearwater in October, just go. You’ll regret it if you don’t.
