Heavy rain hammered Central Florida overnight, flooding neighborhoods and shutting down streets across the region. In Brevard County, the downpour hit hard—residents woke up to waterlogged driveways, some cars nearly underwater, and even a fire rescue truck trapped after a road gave way beneath it.
The Titusville Fire Department told everyone to stay home and off the roads. Too many people ended up stuck in their cars, and emergency calls poured in. Police in Titusville echoed the warning: don’t risk driving through flooded intersections. The water often looks shallow, but it’s deeper than you think.
Officials urge drivers to take alternate routes and slow down if they must be out. City Council member Sarah Stoeckel keeps the community updated on Facebook, sharing real-time information as crews work to respond.
Lake County faced its own mess. Residents saw roadblocks and streets underwater all over—Donelly Street and Wolf Branch Road in Mount Dora were especially hard hit. Parts of the pavement just washed away, leaving big gaps and heavy erosion. Several vehicles got stranded along these battered roads, adding to the chaos.
